Frequently Asked Questions

Do you assist in designing the menu for our special event?

Absolutely! Whether you’re planning a private dinner at home or a quinceañera, our goal is to sit with you in person and learn who you are, what you like, and how to best represent that with our services. We’ll provide sample menus for you to use to customize your experience, and we’ll use any information you give us about your preferences and tastes to inform how we decorate and serve.

At Marigold Catering, we can provide anything from family-style buffet catering to multi-course plated meals. If you have limited kitchen facilities, there may be additional charges, but we’ll use our own staffing and equipment to make it work.

How do I schedule an event with Marigold Catering Co.?

The first step in booking an event with us is submitting an event proposal on our Contact Us page. Once we’ve reviewed it, we’ll contact you to set up a face-to-face within two business days so we can sit down and learn how to best deliver the experience you want.

If the date you’re looking for is available, we’ll hold it for you; if it’s not, we can work with you to come up with an alternative.

Am I able to try your food before you commit to booking an event?

Absolutely! Contact us and we’ll work with you to schedule a time for you to come in for a tasting. There’s a $100 tasting fee for this service but, once you book an event with us, that fee will be applied toward your event fee.

Do you all provide linen, glassware, bars etc…?

We have relationships with a variety of rental companies, and can coordinate rentals for glassware, silverware, plates, and linens. There’s a 20% service fee for coordinating rentals related to food and beverage service. Once your event is over, we’ll take care of making sure rentals are properly accounted for and returned to the rental company.

Do you all provide a bar service?

Marigold Catering offers a variety of bar service packages so that you can pick the right alcoholic beverages for your event. From wine pairings to craft beer and fine Kentucky bourbons, we’ll work with you to ensure the bar meets your expectations.

Are you all able to adjust and cater to any dietary or food allergies we may have for our event?

If your guests have food allergies or specific dietary restrictions, let us know and we’ll create a menu to accommodate them. We have a variety of vegan, gluten free, and healthy options to choose from, and we can even modify existing menu items to meet your needs.

How much notice do you need for guests counts my event?

Three weeks before your event, we’ll contact you to get a precise guest count. Because guest count has a significant impact on the amount of food we bring and the cost of service, please be as accurate with your guest count as possible. If your final guest count is significantly larger than the original agreed-upon estimate, we may need to recalculate the cost of your event. If more guests show up than you contracted for, the cost of feeding the additional guests will be added to your invoice.

What payment is required to secure and book my event date?

To confirm your event and reserve your event date, we ask that you submit a deposit of 50% of your estimated event cost. In addition to the deposit, we’ll need a returned and signed copy of the event contract.

We require payment in full no later than seven (7) business days before the event itself. If payment must be made up to two (2) days prior to the event, only cash, certified check, or credit card payment with signed authorization will be accepted. We also keep a credit card on file to handle any incidental charges that you might incur during the event.

All credit card payments for catering events are subject to a 3% charge.
