New cafe opens at Speed Art Museum

The Speed Art Museum usually displays classic and modern works for guests to look at, but now, guests can get a taste of their culinary arts.

Est. 1927 by Marigold is the museum’s new cafe. The name is a nod to the Speed’s opening date and its roots to Louisville and the Commonwealth.

It’s run by the husband-and-wife team behind the House of Marigold. They say the cafe is an extension of the museum.

”Very on par with the creativity and the beautiful art that the Speed Museum already curates, but providing a space that is going to be comfortable for not only the guests that come to the museum, but the students that are on campus, people that are coming in from out of town, a whole other way to experience our city and experience the museum as well,” Adrienne Cole with front-of-house operations said.

Est. 1927 by Marigold is open Wednesday through Sundays. They offer salads, sandwiches, entrees, desserts, plus cocktails, beer and wine.
